A downloadable Playdate game

Find your way out of a mysterious forest in the first chapter of CAT WORLD, a narrative puzzle-adventure game for Playdate.  You play as Ember, a lost kitten making their way across a strange land loosely based off sketches I made as a kid (yes, really).

This first chapter is around fifteen minutes long. There is an auto-save between rooms, so you don't need to complete it in one sitting.

For notifications about future chapters, make sure to follow Pawprints on Itch.

Created an account just to say, this game is tight!!! Great use of pixel art, everything is vibrant and easy to recognize, and cute, to boot ;) The puzzles are just the perfect amount of effort, and every time I thought, "oh no, I locked myself out of winning", it never happened. Gameplay is narrative focused, and the side quests make sense without being too much. The way the tension builds up with little clues about the thing "off screen" from the beginning to the end is very well done. Looking forward to more from you!

This comment means everything to me! Thanks for playing :-)

Haha, of course, and thanks for putting your creativity and hard work into the world!

Loved it! Had me thinking in a few places but I really enjoyed my time with it. I'm ready for Chapter 2 already!

Thanks! Watch this space!!

Will do!

Really liking this so far! One note, I saved after getting the axe, loaded it later, and got the message about finding the radio again when I entered this screen, even though I already found it. Only weird thing I've noticed, hope to see more of this game!

Thanks, good catch!

Update: this should be fixed in v0.2, thanks again for flagging!

Awesome! Can't wait to see more from you!
